What: Edens Edge
When it comes to making great music, kindred spirits somehow seem to find each other and such is the case with Edens Edge. Three talented young musicians from Arkansas- Hannah Blaylock, Dean Berner, and Cherrill Green- make their debut on Big Machine Records with a vibrant sound that honors country music's roots while creatively pushing the envelope with their seasoned musicianship, dazzling harmonies and insightful sondwriting. With Just one listen Edens Edge, it's obvious the trio has forged a unique sound shaped by their individual influences of faith, family and their own distinctive gifts to the music they play and sing. Where: Highlands Playhouse
What: Casting Call for Highlands Playhouse
Highlands Playhouse, the second oldest professional theater in North Carolina, will be holding an open call for both Equity and Non-Equity actors on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 11am - 2pm at the Highlands Playhouse and from 3pm - 6pm in the Blackbox Theater at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School. The Playhouse is casting for its 75th Anniversary Season – Buddy:The Buddy Holly Story, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Annie. Actors may be considered for one or more productions. Contract dates run from May 26, 2013 through August 17, 2013.
Adult actors should prepare two contrasting 32-bar songs in the style of the shows, as well as a one-minute comedic monologue. If you play an instrument – bring your instrument and be ready to demonstrate that as well. An accompanist will be provided so please bring your sheet music.
Young ladies interested in playing orphans in Annie should be between the ages of 9 and 15. These actresses need to prepare only one song, of any length.

Where: The Bascom
What: Regional Art at The Bascom
Thirteen local art groups, a record number, are participating in The Bascom's annual exhibition, Regional Arts Organizations: Selected Works. On view now through March 31st, this show includes a variety of innovative works from these members. For the first time this year, The Bascom will present $700 in awards, including a People's Choice Award. The reception and awards announcement will take place on Saturday, March 23rd from 5pm-7pm. Everyone is welcome to the reception.
